The requests came in a letter to DeWine and included the controversial House Bill 8, also known as the Parents Bill of Rights. That bill, among other things, includes a provision that requires school personnel to notify parents if a student confides to be gay or has gender identity concerns. It also requires school districts to allow religious release time during the school day. “House Bill 8 pushes Ohio’s teachers and counselors to out students questioning their identity, even when this information may endanger the safety and wellbeing of the child at home. This law will not help our families but will drive children further into isolation, drastically harming their personal safety and mental health,” House Democrats said in a statement. “The addition to the bill requiring districts to have religious relief time during the school day interferes with the ability of communities to build the education best for their children.” The letter also asks for two line-item vetoes in House Bill 315, a 441-page bill introduced on the morning of the last day of the session. Part of that bill prohibits any political subdivision, public officials or state agency from enforcing any guideline, mandate, recommendation or rule from the World Health Organizations. “This is a broad declaration in law against following evidence-based and trusted public health guidelines. The 29-year-old was a 27th round pick by the New York Yankees in 2018. He made his major league debut last season with the Red Sox. The switch-hitter played in 13 games and tallied just 23 plate appearances. He scored a run while walking four times but is 0-for-18 to start his career. A 15% caught stealing rate isn’t exactly ideal, but Gasper owns a better offensive profile. Across 407 minor league games, he has a .275/.392/.449 slash line. Last season between Double an Triple-A, Gasper owned a .970 OPS with 12 home runs. He has elite plate discipline and that was reflected by a 42/56 K/BB rate. It remains to be seen where the Minnesota Twins will go from here. This is another piece of the offseason puzzle though, and comes just before Santa Claus passes over Target Field. With Jack Crowley rested, Munster had no answer to Leinster’s class, and the visitors were 21-7 ahead when Prendergast made way for Ross Byrne with 16 minutes remaining. The win extends Leinster’s lead at the top of the URC and marks their eighth victory in the last nine meetings in what has become a one-sided derby clash. “It was my first time playing against Munster in a senior game and playing down here. Some atmosphere, and we fought through the hard moments well to get a good bonus-point win,” said Prendergast after Leinster’s sixth successive victory over Munster at Thomond Park. Leinster delivered a masterclass in efficiency during the opening half, heading into the break with a 14-0 lead. Coach DeMeco Ryans revealed the details of his injury Monday before announcing that Dell would have season-ending surgery for a second straight year. He fractured his fibula in Week 13 against the Broncos as a rookie last season and had surgery on it the following day. “He dislocated the knee, he tore the ACL, other things there he’ll have to get repaired," Ryans said. “So he’ll be out for the year.” Ryans didn't have a date for Dell's surgery for this injury, but said it would be soon. Dell was injured on a 30-yard touchdown catch in Houston’s 27-19 loss Saturday. He was coming across the back of the end zone and made the spectacular catch on a pass from C.J. Stroud before colliding with Houston teammate Jared Wayne on the way to the ground. Dell immediately grabbed at his knee and Wayne signaled for team trainers, who spent several minutes working on the wide receiver while teammates waited anxiously. People are also reading...
